Siracusa has some of the best beaches in Sicily (Italy? the world?) and this is why we’ve compiled a list of the best beaches near Siracusa for your upcoming holiday to the best island in the world.

Pssst… it’s never too early to think about a Sicilian holiday!

The best beaches near Siracusa

1. The beach of Eloro

Thanks to its difficult access within the  Vendicari Reserve, the beach of Eloro has remained one of the most private beaches in Sicily. There is a long almost-untouched stretch of sand and the water is crystal clear.

Remember that this beach, since it’s so isolated, it lacks any form of service, bars or entertainment – which, in my opinion, is part of its untouched beauty.

To reach the beach of Eloro, you need to drive a narrow street, at the end of which you will find a big parking space. From there, you need to walk for about 5 minutes through the Reserve to get the beach.

2. Cala Mosche

The Cala Mosche beach is definitely one of the most amazing beaches in Sicily, with its white sand and nestled between two headlands. It is quite hidden and only reachable by driving on a rough road and a walk.

The only thing to remember while visiting it’s that Cala Mosche has become quite popular in high season and this is why it’s best to visit offseason.

Visit Sicily off season, book your Sicilian home, now!

3. Beach of Portopalo

Portopalo beach is a gorgeous stretch of sand that will never disappoint. The main beach of Portopalo is the Scalo Mandrie, where you can admire the remains of the old tuna fishery. In fact, if you are a seafood lover, you can’t miss the catch from here which provides fresh fish to most of the Eastern coast of Sicily and beyond.
